Wow, this really makes me think about being nice – a lot. No time for bad thoughts.
My small act of kindness today:
There’s a heat wave where my mother lives. I wanted to check up on her but I couldn’t let her know that. She’s too proud. So I called under the pretext of discussing a book she loaned me.
It’s 1786. The protagonist, a determined young woman, joins a wagon train headed west—without a man to protect her. Imagine. My 94-year-old mother often tells me, “I could have traveled west on a wagon train.” The book is Freedom’s Promise by Dianna Crawford.
