Day 12

my small act of kindness today:
We have had record-breaking heat and humidity for 3 days now. My mother lives on the farm that has been her home since she married my father at age 18. Now at age 94, she is able to stay in her home alone, thanks to the fact that my brother lives just up the hill.

I called her to chat for a while about the books she is reading and to reminisce about trips we have taken. My real reason for calling was to see that she was dealing with the heat OK.
